Witold Gombrowicz, one of the most eminent polish writer, wrote his first novel „Ferdydurke”in the village of Wsola near Radom.

Gombrowicz spend his vacations in the Palace in Wsola, which belonged to his older brother. During the day, he was practicing sports and was relaxing in the open. During the night, he was writing pieces of his early works, among others “Ferdydurke”, which made him famous in the whole world.

Now in Wsola we can visit Gombrowicz’s museum, where we can see writer’s scripts. One of the most interesting showpieces in the museum is the suitcase, which he used during emigration since 1939, when he left Poland.
